Leaving her modeling career behind for the law was the hardest decision of Britt McCall’s life. One of Chicago’s up-and-coming commercial models, she had worked hard for everything she got—notoriety, top-of-the-line clients, and access to the best photographers. But then everything changed—a right decision turned wrong toppled her career, closing the doors to her dreams.
Trading fashion for law books, she became one of Cook County’s top assistant states attorneys, vowing to protect those who had been taken advantage of by societies depraved.
But her life is thrown into a tailspin when two young models are found dead on the city’s North Side. Assigned to prosecute the cases because of her unique background, her investigations lead her back into the dark side of the modeling world, one where clients often want something more than a pretty face.

The Britt McCall series follows the McCall family siblings - Britt, a former-model-turned-prosecutor; her twin sister Mary, a Chicago appellate attorney; and younger sister Keely, a fashion photographer - as they navigate life's challenges in the busy city of Chicago. The McCall family relocated from Sydney, Australia, to Chicago, Illinois, fifteen years ago and since then, their lives have been full of turmoil.

Britt McCall
Identical twin sisters, Britt and Mary McCall took different life paths to reach their destinations. Britt followed her mother Sharon’s footsteps and became a model at age 15, gracing the pages of national and international magazines, staring in commercials, and even appearing in major music videos. Britt’s career was taking off when she suddenly quick modeling and joined her twin sister in law school. Now a state’s attorney working in the Felony Review Unit, she prosecutes crimes and helps protect those who were wronged by society, something we learn has a more personal context. Britt is loyal, having always been there for her family, and due to her mother’s illnesses, largely raised her siblings.
Mary McCall
Mary McCall took a different path in life. Always the introvert, and blessed with superb writing skills, Mary followed in her father’s footsteps, becoming a lawyer and eventually working in one of Chicago’s leading appellate practice boutiques. While Britt modeled, Mary studied and fell in love with Jeff Edwards, who was later killed in Afghanistan. The two had a daughter, Vivian, who is seven and a spitting image of her mother.
Keely McCall
The twins’ younger sister, Keely McCall, is five years their junior and can only be described as a fireball. Sassy, loud, rebellious, and always looking for attention, Keely has always felt that she was the neglected sister and constantly strives to set herself apart from her gorgeous and accomplished elder sisters. A fashion photographer, she wanted to follow Britt into modeling but quickly found she didn’t have the “stuff” to succeed in the industry. She loves music, enjoys going to the Chicago clubs, and looks up to Britt as a role model, although she feels she constantly falls short.
Ray Flynn
Britt’s love interest, Ray Flynn is a gritty but soft-spoken police detective who served as an MP in the U.S. Army before joining the Chicago Police Department. A country music lover and avid Chicago sports fan, Ray finally gets up the courage to ask Britt out, even though the two are now working closely on the model murders investigation. Calm, analytical, and confident, he brings a sense of balance to Britt’s life.
KJ O'Neal
KJ O’Neal, a salt of the earth Philly girl and the daughter of a police detective, has just recently began working with Ray Flynn and the two have developed a close friendship, sharing many of the same interests, especially sports and beer. KJ has a keen eye for detective work and is a marksman who puts even Ray to shame. She loves the Eagles and the Phillies, is a sucker for all foods Philly, and worships her Yorkie Clark Kent, not to mention her love of 70s classic rock music. Her stoic, often “back off” facial expressions and cool at work personae hide the true KJ, who is kindhearted and compassionate.
