Books I Like to Read
I have long enjoyed reading. In the early 1990s and throughout most of the decade my primary focus was military adventure books - like those by Tom Clancy and Larry Bond and Keith Douglass. But as the decade came to an end, I began reading legal thrillers, starting with the Nina Reilly series, and eventually finding Rebecca Forster's Witness series. I also started reading some romance books, especially those by Barbara Freethy. Since then, most of my reading has been of authors who have similar writing styles as these authors. I encourage you to find these authors and enter their fantastic worlds. Now I add Tara Moss and Alafair Burke to this list.
If you enjoy my writing style, I guarantee you'll love theirs, because they were my inspirations as a fiction writer.
I highly recommend this exciting legal suspense series. Not only did I enjoy it, but Rebecca's writing style has become one of my favorite.
The O’Shaughnessy sisters bring excitement to every book in their Nina Reilly series. This series also served as a major inspiration in my writing.
Alafair has several excellent legal thriller series and successfully used both first- and third-person styles. Angel's Tip is my favorite.

Barbara Freethy's writing style has been a big inspiration over the years and I have enjoyed her recent FBI series.
Tara Moss, a former Australian model-turned-writer, has done an excellent job with her Makedde Vanderwall thriller series.
